Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick said Monday that winger Raphinha will not leave the club this summer despite continued interest from the Saudi Pro League.
Speaking after Barcelona’s 3-1 LaLiga win over Real Betis on May 17, Flick stated that Raphinha “is staying” and remains a “crucial part of our plans,” adding that the Brazilian could remain at the club “for many years.” The comments come amid reports that Saudi clubs were prepared to submit offers in excess of 90 million euros for the 29-year-old, with a proposed contract running beyond 2028.
Raphinha joined Barcelona from Leeds United in 2022 and is under contract until 2028. The Brazil international previously revealed he considered leaving in 2024 after receiving what he described as a “life changing” offer from Saudi Arabia.
He said conversations with Flick during preseason were key to his decision to stay. Under Flick, Raphinha has become a central figure in the squad, recording 34 goals and 26 assists in 57 appearances during the 2024–25 campaign as Barcelona won LaLiga, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Supercopa.
In response to Flick’s remarks, Raphinha said, “Hansi is like a father to me.” Club officials reportedly view the forward as “untouchable” within Flick’s tactical setup and have ruled out a transfer in the 2026 summer window.
