Paul Onuachu Scores as Trabzonspor Win 2026 Turkish Cup Final Against Konyaspor

Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu holds the Turkish Cup trophy after winning the 2026 final on May 22

Trabzonspor captured the 2026 Turkish Cup on Friday, May 22, defeating Konyaspor in the final at a neutral venue in Turkey.

The Black Sea Storm secured their 10th Ziraat Türkiye Kupası title after a decisive performance that featured Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu leading the line. The 31-year-old forward, who joined Trabzonspor permanently from Southampton last summer, started the match and played a key role in the club’s cup run this season.

The final marked the third meeting between the two sides this season. Trabzonspor won the first league clash 3-1, while Konyaspor took the second 2-1 in March 2026. Onuachu entered Friday’s showpiece with two Turkish Cup goals in the 2025/26 campaign and 22 league goals overall. He had previously starred in the competition with strikes against Fethiyespor in February and a late winner versus İstanbul BB in the group stage.

The victory caps a prolific season for Onuachu, who revived his scoring form after a difficult spell in England. The 2.01-meter striker tallied 24 goals in 34 appearances for Trabzonspor since his permanent move in June 2025.
