Liverpool and Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 in a Premier League Matchday 2 fixture at Anfield on Saturday 29 August 2026, with both teams seeking their first league win after Liverpool’s opening draw and Forest’s defeat.
Swiss winger Dan Ndoye opened the scoring for Nottingham Forest in the 24th minute, assisted by English midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. Swedish striker Alexander Isak equalised for Liverpool in the 60th minute from a Cody Gakpo cross. Gibbs-White restored Forest’s lead from the penalty spot in the 70th minute before Spanish forward Víctor Muñoz levelled again in the 82nd minute after a pass from Florian Wirtz.
Forest led for long periods and looked dangerous on the break while Liverpool dominated possession and mounted a second-half recovery to force the draw.
