Galatasaray 3-2 Göztepe: Osimhen Penalty Seals Win

Galatasaray defeated Göztepe 3-2 in the Süper Lig on August 29, 2026, at Rams Park in Istanbul. The home side recovered from an early deficit to secure the three points and move clear at the top of the table after Matchday 3.

Tanzanian midfielder Novatus Miroshi opened the scoring for Göztepe in the 16th minute, assisted by André Henrique. Colombian defender Davinson Sánchez equalised for Galatasaray in the 33rd minute. Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara put the hosts ahead in the 55th minute, assisted by Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen. Osimhen converted a penalty in the 63rd minute to make it 3-1, before Brazilian forward Juan Santos reduced the deficit for Göztepe in the 65th minute. 

Galatasaray controlled large spells after falling behind and turned the contest around with a strong second-half response.

The result left Galatasaray top of the Süper Lig with seven points from three matches and a goal difference of plus five after scoring nine and conceding four. Göztepe remained 15th with one point.

Galatasaray’s next Süper Lig fixture is an away match against İstanbul Başakşehir on September 4, 2026.
