Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek said the club has no intention of selling Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen, dismissing mounting transfer speculation linking the striker to European clubs.
Speaking in an interview with Turkish outlet Sabah, Özbek stated, “We are not considering selling Victor Osimhen. Putting a price on a player we don’t intend to sell is like dressing a footballer before he’s even born.” The comments come as Osimhen, 27, continues a standout 2025/26 campaign for the Turkish champions.
Özbek detailed the difficulty of securing Osimhen’s permanent move from Napoli, a deal completed for €75 million. The president confirmed he contributed €35 million from his own company to meet Napoli’s guarantee demands and finalize the transfer. “Napoli asked for guarantees, and this was the first time I saw such procedures. We paid part in advance,” Özbek said. He added that Osimhen’s contract contains no release clause and that the striker will “serve Galatasaray for many years”.
Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan in 2024 before the move was made permanent. This season he has scored 22 goals and provided 8 assists in 33 appearances, helping the club’s Süper Lig title challenge. Özbek praised the forward’s connection with supporters, saying, “Osimhen is making the second generation Galatasaray fans.” The president also rejected reports of a €100 million valuation, telling media during title celebrations, “I wouldn’t sell him for 100 million”.
