Bayern Munich have decided they will not sell winger Michael Olise this summer, even if Liverpool submit a bid worth €170 million (£147 million), according to club officials and reports from German media.
The decision was communicated by Bayern sporting director Max Eberl and board member Uli Hoeneß in response to speculation linking the 24-year-old with a move to Anfield. Olise remains under contract with the Bundesliga club until June 2029, and Bayern have confirmed his deal does not contain a release clause.
The France international joined Bayern from Crystal Palace in the summer of 2024 for £50 million and has since become a central figure for the club. In 106 appearances across all competitions, Olise has recorded 42 goals and 53 assists.
His performances have helped Bayern secure back-to-back Bundesliga titles under manager Vincent Kompany. Liverpool had identified Olise as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is set to leave the club at the end of the current season. Reports in Germany and Spain claimed Liverpool were prepared to offer between €170 million and €200 million for the winger.
Speaking to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Eberl stated that Bayern are “not wasting any thought” on a sale and described Olise as “the future of Bayern Munich.” Hoeneß also dismissed the possibility of a transfer, adding that the club would not strengthen a direct European rival.
Bayern instead plan to offer Olise a new contract to reflect his status within the squad. Club president Herbert Hainer noted that Olise continues to develop and has yearly opportunities to compete for major trophies in Munich.
