Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk praised Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen for his performance during the 2025-26 season with the Turkish Super Lig champions.
Speaking to media and quoted by ESPN News, Buruk addressed Osimhen’s impact since joining the Istanbul club. The striker moved to Galatasaray for €75 million, a fee Buruk said is the highest ever paid by a Turkish team. He noted the club allocated its full transfer budget to secure the player, calling him “a dream for Galatasaray.”
Buruk highlighted Osimhen’s contribution on and off the scoresheet. “Osimhen works hard, scores, and assists,” he said. “He plays for the team, not just for goals and assists.” Buruk added that Osimhen’s approach reflects the mentality he wants across the squad. “When we all play with this mentality, no one can stop us,” he stated. The manager also described the forward as a team player, emphasizing that Osimhen’s value extends beyond finishing.
The 2025-26 campaign marked Osimhen’s first full season with Galatasaray after the record transfer. The club won the Turkish Super Lig title.The €75 million deal set a new benchmark for Turkish football spending and made Osimhen the most expensive signing in the country’s history.
