Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has firmly rejected offers to work as a television pundit during the 2026 World Cup.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of Wednesday’s cup semi-final against Bayer Leverkusen, the former Belgium captain dismissed the proposals without hesitation. “Absolutely no chance!” Kompany said, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 40-year-old coach explained his decision is rooted in family priorities. With the Bundesliga season concluding before the summer tournament, Kompany intends to use the break as genuine vacation time. “Why would I do that during vacation time? Then I wouldn’t have any family left in Munich next season,” he added, making clear that rest and personal time take precedence over additional media work.
Kompany’s stance aligns with recent reports from the Daily Mail and Mirror, which reported multiple broadcasters had approached him. The Bayern boss reinforces his commitment to both family life and being fully prepared for the 2026–27 campaign.
