Paul Pogba Shares Heartfelt Family Values and Pride in Guinean Roots

Paul Pogba Signed for AC Monaco

AS Monaco midfielder Paul Pogba has spoken openly about his humble beginnings and the central role of family in his life.

In a media interview while spending time with his children, the 32-year-old French international reflected on his Guinean heritage and the lessons his parents had passed down. Pogba emphasized that his success was built on hard work rather than privilege, crediting his family's support for shaping his character.

“My parents sacrificed everything for my brothers and me. That’s why I always say family comes before football,” Pogba said. He added that when his children misbehave, he warns them he will take them to Guinea, his parents’ homeland, “so they can see the real values of life.”

The midfielder also reportedly stated that he teaches his kids to finish their plates, reminding them of the abundance in Europe compared to realities elsewhere, particularly in Africa.

Pogba signed with AS Monaco on a free transfer on June 28, 2025, agreeing to a two-year deal until June 2027. He has made three substitute appearances for the club, totaling around 30 minutes, with no goals scored so far. The 33-year-old left his hometown club Le Havre in 2009 at the age of 16 to join Manchester United’s youth academy, marking the start of his professional journey abroad. Pogba expressed pride in his background, stating he always remembers where he comes from.
