Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has launched a sharp attack on unidentified individuals inside the club, accusing them of treason for repeatedly leaking team lineups to journalists.
His outburst followed a 3–1 Süper Lig win against Göztepe on April 8, a match in which Buruk fielded an unexpected starting XI, benching key players like Lucas Torreira and starting İlkay Gündoğan.
Buruk claimed the lineup would have been impossible to predict without inside help. He specifically named journalist Kaya Temel, who had accurately shared details on positional changes shortly before kickoff.
“There is treason being committed against Galatasaray. Leaking the squad every week is a direct harm to the club,” Buruk said in his post-match press conference. “Whoever is selling us out from inside, we will expose them and take measures.”
The manager reported that the leaks have persisted even for European matches, damaging the team’s competitive edge. Despite the controversy, goals from Barış Alper Yılmaz, an own goal, and Mario Lemina assured the victory.
