Galatasaray were held to a 1-1 draw by Kocaelispor on April 12 at Rams Park, missing a chance to strengthen their lead at the top of the Süper Lig.
The league leaders opened the scoring in the 30th minute through Leroy Sané, who finished an assist from Ismail Jakobs to give Galatasaray a 1-0 halftime advantage.
Kocaelispor struck back in the 72nd minute when B. Petković leveled the match, assisted by Tayfur Bingöl. Galatasaray could not find a winner despite controlling large spells, leaving the home side frustrated with two points dropped against a mid-table opponent.
Galatasaray remains first in the table but must refocus on other matches. Their next match would be Gençlerbirliği on April 18 at Eryaman Stadium in Ankara, followed by the crucial home derby against Fenerbahçe on April 26.
