Galatasaray fans are buzzing with excitement following claims that club captain Mauro Icardi has promised to donate his entire one-year salary to the squad as a collective bonus if the team secures the Turkish Süper Lig championship this season.
The Argentine striker, a key figure for the Lions since joining permanently in 2023, is said to have made the gesture as a show of commitment and loyalty to his teammates and the club’s passionate supporters.
According to a post on X by user Forzagalahell (via HEL), Icardi was quoted as saying: "If we become champions this season, I will donate my one-year salary to the team as a bonus. I can't repay the love the fans have given me in any other way."
Icardi’s pledge would see his reported annual earnings estimated between €6 million and €7.5 million distributed among the playing staff upon winning the title. The 32-year-old forward has been instrumental in Galatasaray’s recent successes, contributing greatly to their attacking prowess despite ongoing contract discussions for a potential extension beyond his current deal, which expires in June 2026.
