Gabriel Magalhães has set the tone for Arsenal ahead of their Premier League trip to Manchester City, with a message that blends confidence, and focus on results.

The defender emphasized how the team should approach high-pressure fixtures, arguing that the club exists to compete in exactly these types of games. He also suggested that Arsenal are fully aware of their responsibilities in the title race while still maintaining a positive mindset.

According to a report by Charles Watt, Gabriel said: “We need to be strong. We are at this club to play these kinds of games. We need to enjoy.” He added that the match is simply one more contest within a demanding schedule, but with the added weight that comes from fighting for the league. Gabriel continued: “This game will be the same as every other game. One more game for us and we just need to enjoy it. We know the responsibility we have.”

Gabriel furthered the importance of belief and intent going into the final stages of the season. Arsenal are currently top of the 2025/26 Premier League standings, while City sit six points behind but with a game in hand. Reflecting that pressure, Gabriel stated: “It's a big game of course, but we are confident, relaxed and we need to have a good mentality to go there and get the three points.” He concluded by emphasising Arsenal’s readiness and his personal drive: “We are ready to go. I want to win. That's why I'm here.”
