Klopp Reflects on Salah’s Liverpool Legacy

Jürgen Klopp commented on Salah's Liverpool departure

Jürgen Klopp has delivered a heartfelt tribute to Mohamed Salah following the forward’s departure from Liverpool. Speaking candidly, the former Reds manager, now Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull GmbH, emphasized that Salah represented far more than a typical player during his time at Anfield.

“Look, what can I say about Mo? Wow. He was never just a player for us, absolutely not. He was... how can I say it? He was a feeling. A guarantee. A moment just waiting to explode,” Klopp stated. He highlighted Salah’s defining role in the club’s biggest matches, particularly against Pep Guardiola’s dominant Manchester City side, describing the forward as the “ultimate difference-maker” whose presence alone instilled belief.

Acknowledging the difficulty of Salah’s exit, Klopp maintained that true legends endure beyond their playing days. “To see him go... pfff, it is hard. It is really not easy. Not for me, not for anyone who loves Liverpool. But what he gave us? That is forever. True legends, they don’t really leave,” he said, adding that Salah’s place remains secured in the club’s identity. “Liverpool will miss him like crazy, that is clear. But Liverpool is his home, always. And wherever he goes next, he knows it... he will never, ever walk alone.”
