Griezmann to Join Orlando City After Legendary Atlético Tenure

Antoine Griezmann signing out Atlético Madrid

Atlético Madrid icon Antoine Griezmann has officially announced he will depart the club at the end of the 2025-26 season to join Orlando City SC in Major League Soccer.

The 35-year-old Frenchman, who is Atlético's all-time leading scorer, has signed a Designated Player contract with the Florida-based side through 2028.

Over two spells since 2014, Griezmann cemented his status as a club legend, recording 211 goals and 85 assists in nearly 500 appearances. He captained the team to the 2018 Europa League title and two Spanish Super Cups, embodying the gritty, passionate identity of the club.

In a heartfelt message to supporters, Griezmann described Atlético as his "home" and the fans as "family," promising that while his future lies in the United States, his heart will remain forever "Red and White."

Despite the announcement, Griezmann emphasized that he is not finished in Madrid. He remains fully committed to the club’s current campaign, with sights set on a Copa del Rey trophy and a deep run in the Champions League. "I still have months left wearing this shirt, months to give everything," Griezmann stated.
