The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ghana, Honourable Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (MP), is concluding an official visit to the State of Qatar, following a high-level meeting with His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
According to Ablakwa's Twitter post, he revealed that, “The discussions in Doha were immensely productive, centering on forging closer ties, increasing trade, and boosting strategic cooperation in areas like conflict mediation.” He added that a major focus was on easing visa requirements to facilitate the movement of people and goods, acknowledging that direct flights between Doha and Accra have already addressed the transport challenge.
Furthermore, Minister Ablakwa have made progress towards a new labour mobility agreement designed to create significant job opportunities for skilled young Ghanaians in Qatar. This agreement and the visit as a whole reaffirm a shared commitment to advance mutually beneficial cooperation and foster stronger diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
