Nigeria defeated Zimbabwe 2-0 in the 2026 Unity Cup semi-final on Tuesday at The Valley in London, England.

Debutant Nigerian forward Femi Azeez scored both goals to secure victory for the defending champions and advance them to the final. The result highlighted Nigeria’s attacking strength in this four-nation tournament featuring teams with strong diaspora ties in the UK.

Femi Azeez, the Nigerian winger, scored the opener in the 4th minute with a powerful strike on his international debut. He added the second goal in the 62nd minute, assisted by Nigerian captain Terem Moffi.

Nigeria dominated proceedings throughout, controlling possession and creating multiple chances while restricting Zimbabwe to limited counter-attacks in a professional performance.

As defending Unity Cup champions, Nigeria maintain their strong record in the competition with this clean-sheet win. The Super Eagles showcased a blend of European-based professionals and home talent under coach Éric Chelle, advancing confidently toward retaining the title.

Nigeria will face the winner of the Jamaica versus India semi-final on 30 May at The Valley.
