Head Coach Eric Chelle has released a 24-man Super Eagles squad for upcoming friendly matches against Poland and Portugal in Europe next month.

The list, announced Tuesday, includes goalkeepers Maduka Okoye, Arthur Okonkwo, and Francis Uzoho. The defense features Calvin Bassey, Ola Aina, and Zaidu Sanusi.

Midfield selections include Alex Iwobi, Wilfred Ndidi, and Raphael Onyedika, while the attack is led by Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman, and Terem Moffi. Noticeably absent from the roster is a player named Benjamin, prompting questions from fans and media.

The friendlies are scheduled for June in Europe as part of Nigeria’s preparations for upcoming competitive fixtures. The matches against Poland and Portugal will test the squad depth under Chelle, who took charge of the team earlier this year.

The coach selected players from clubs across England, Italy, Turkey, Spain, France, and other leagues. The omission of Benjamin was not addressed in the initial squad announcement posted online.

As of Wednesday, May 20, 2026, the Nigeria Football Federation has not issued an official statement on Benjamin’s absence. It remains unclear if the omission is due to injury, form, tactical selection, or other reasons.

The team is expected to begin camping in Europe in early June ahead of the fixtures. The matches will give Chelle an opportunity to assess options before Nigeria’s next competitive assignments later this year.
