Celtic defeated Dunfermline Athletic 3-1 on Saturday to win the Scottish Cup at Hampden Park, Glasgow, securing the club’s second trophy this season after clinching the Premiership title earlier.
Japanese forward Daizen Maeda opened the scoring in the 18th minute, assisted by Canadian defender Alistair Johnston. Belgian midfielder Arne Engels added the second in the 35th minute; Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho made it 3-0 in the 72nd minute; Dunfermline’s Josh Cooper, nationality unlisted in match data, replied in the 79th minute. Celtic controlled the first half with two goals, then managed a defensive second period before conceding late.
The victory concludes Celtic’s 2025-26 domestic campaign. In the Scottish Premiership, Celtic finished 3rd with 67 points and a +24 goal difference, behind Heart of Midlothian and Rangers. The club lifted the league title the previous weekend after a 3-1 win over Hearts on May 16. Dunfermline, of the Scottish Championship, ended their league season 4th with 51 points and a +11 goal difference. Saturday’s final was the clubs’ fifth Scottish Cup meeting, Celtic winning three.
Celtic have no domestic fixtures scheduled following the May 23 final, as the 2025-26 Premiership concluded May 24.
