Nigerian author and columnist Reno Omokri highlighted some positive effects under President Bola Tinubu on Nigerian economic growth.

Reno Omokri took to his Twitter handle and revealed "Economic Miracles Currently Happening Under President Tinubu." According to Reno, the prudent management of foreign reserves under the President has led to a 3.93% GDP growth in the immediate past quarter, following a 4.23% growth in the quarter before that (Q2, 2025). This growth rate is noted as one of the fastest in the history of Nigeria, signaling a positive response to recent economic policies.

Omokri presented five specific economic highlights in his post:

 * Foreign Reserves Milestone: Nigeria's foreign reserves have surpassed the $45 billion mark for the first time in six years, positioning the country's reserves as the fourth-highest on the African continent.

 * Energy Sector Transition: Within two years, Nigeria has transitioned from being Africa's largest importer of refined petroleum products to becoming West Africa's largest exporter of the same product, a significant achievement in energy independence.

 * Oil Production Surge: For the first time in over a decade, Nigeria has reportedly overshot its OPEC quota for three consecutive months, with an average production of 1.71 million barrels per day projected for the fourth consecutive month.

 * Expanded International Air Connectivity: President Tinubu facilitated direct flights for Nigerian airlines to numerous international destinations. This expansion connects Nigerian airports to major global hubs, including London's Gatwick and Heathrow, São Paulo, Bogotá, Entebbe, Dar es Salaam, Algiers, and St. Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean.

The economic highlights under President Tinubu, as detailed by Reno Omokri, extend beyond traditional fiscal and energy metrics to include a significant focus on human capital and social welfare. A notable bonus point stated by Reno, is the unprecedented awarding of student loans to 500,000 students, with hundreds of thousands more reportedly awaiting their loan disbursements.
