Fulham have reached an agreement on personal terms with Super Eagles defender Chibuike Nwaiwu over a long-term contract until 2030.
The agreement was reported by Foot Mercato and circulated on Wednesday. According to the report, the 22-year-old centre-back has accepted Fulham's proposal for a five-year deal, paving the way for a potential move to Craven Cottage.
With personal terms now settled, Fulham's attention has shifted to reaching a deal with Trabzonspor. The Turkish club is Nwaiwu's current employer and holds a strong negotiating position, as the defender is under contract until June 30, 2030. Reports in Turkey and England indicate that Fulham have already had two bids rejected, including an improved package worth around 28 million euros made up of a guaranteed fee plus add-ons.
Trabzonspor are said to be holding firm on a valuation between 30 million and 35 million euros and are unwilling to negotiate below that figure.
Nwaiwu joined Trabzonspor from Austrian side Wolfsberger AC in the January 2026 transfer window for a reported fee of 5.5 million euros and quickly established himself as a key player. He earned his first senior cap for Nigeria during the Unity Cup this summer and helped the team keep clean sheets against Zimbabwe and Jamaica.
