Czechia and South Africa played to a 1-1 draw in their FIFA World Cup 2026 Group A clash on June 18 at Atlanta Stadium in Atlanta.

Czech midfielder Michal Sadílek opened the scoring early, while South African midfielder Teboho Mokoena equalized late from the penalty spot. The result left both teams with one point from two matches, keeping their qualification hopes alive but precarious.

Michal Sadílek scored for Czechia in the 6th minute, assisted by Alexandr Sojka. Teboho Mokoena converted a penalty for South Africa in the 83rd minute. Czechia started brightly and took an early lead, but South Africa dominated possession and chances in the second half, earning a deserved equalizer through persistent pressure that forced a handball in the box.

Czechia sits third in Group A with one point and a goal difference of -1, while South Africa is fourth with one point and a goal difference of -2. Mexico and South Korea lead the group with three points each after one match.

Czechia faces Mexico on June 24, while South Africa plays South Korea on the same day.
