Nigerian striker Rafiu Durosinmi has earned his first invitation to the Super Eagles for the 2026 Unity Cup in London.

The 23-year-old, who plays for Italian club Pisa, was named in head coach Éric Chelle's squad for the tournament. Durosinmi arrived at the team's camp in the British capital over the weekend as one of three late additions, joining goalkeeper Francis Uzoho and midfielder Chibuike Nwaiwu. Their arrival increased the number of players in camp to 17 ahead of Nigeria's opening fixture.

Speaking after linking up with the squad, Durosinmi described the call-up as a great honour. He said he immediately informed his family and his agent about the invitation, noting that wearing the national team jersey fulfils a childhood ambition.

The forward is in line to make his debut when Nigeria face Zimbabwe on Tuesday at The Valley in London. He said he wants to make an immediate impact and stated his ambition is to be remembered as a player who gave his best for the Super Eagles throughout his career.

Durosinmi's selection comes as Chelle reshapes the attack for the Unity Cup, which runs from May 26 to 30. The coach omitted forwards Kelechi Iheanacho and Tolu Arokodare, opting instead for Durosinmi alongside Terem Moffi and Owen Oseni.
