Harry Kane Calls DFB-Pokal Win “One of the Best Nights” of His Career

Harry Kane wearing a red Bayern Munich home jersey celebrates with clenched fists and an open mouth in front of a packed stadium crowd

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane commented on his performance after the club’s 3-0 victory over VfB Stuttgart in the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

Kane spoke following the match at Berlin’s Olympiastadion, where he scored a second-half hat-trick to help secure Bayern’s 21st German Cup title. His remarks were shared publicly by football journalist Fabrizio Romano on the social platform X shortly after the final whistle.

Kane said the match was “definitely one of the best nights of my career.” He explained that he had been “incredibly excited” for the final after hearing about the occasion from teammates who had played in it before. “To score a hat-trick in a final, it’s really a very special game and a very special feeling,” Kane said. The England forward also reflected on his season with the club, adding, “I’m extremely proud of that. I loved this season at Bayern.”

The statement came after Kane completed his first full season in Germany. He joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in August 2023 and ended the 2025/26 campaign with 61 goals in 51 matches across all competitions. The win on Saturday gave Bayern its first domestic double since 2020, adding the DFB-Pokal to the Bundesliga title it secured earlier in May. Kane’s hat-trick included a header in the 55th minute, a low finish in the 80th minute, and a stoppage-time penalty.
