Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola publicly congratulated Arsenal on winning the Premier League title.
Speaking to Carrie Brown of beIN SPORTS, Guardiola delivered the message following Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Bournemouth. The interview took place at the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth’s home ground, after the final whistle of the match.
In his statement, Guardiola said, "On behalf of Man City we congratulate Mikel, the staff, players, fans and Arsenal for this Premier League." He addressed Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta directly and extended recognition to the entire club. The result at Bournemouth left City unable to overtake Arsenal in the league standings, confirming Arsenal as champions.
Guardiola also looked ahead to next season, adding, "Next season we will be back." The draw concluded Manchester City’s Premier League campaign.
