Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle on Monday released Nigeria’s squad for the 2026 Unity Cup tournament in London, with Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen among the notable absentees.

The list, announced ahead of the May 27 to June 6 international window, features a mix of Europe-based professionals and Nigeria Premier Football League players. The Unity Cup will be staged at the Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford, West London, from May 27 to 31. Nigeria faces Ghana in the second semi-final on May 28, after Trinidad and Tobago play Jamaica on May 27.

The goalkeeping department includes Francis Uzoho of Omonia FC, Arthur Okonkwo of Wrexham, and Ikorodu City’s Michael Atata, who earned a call-up after recording 16 clean sheets in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

Defenders named are Emmanuel Fernandez, Chibuike Nwaiwu, Igoh Ogbu, Elias Ochobi, Chibueze Oputa, Obinna Igboke and Bruno Onyemaechi. In midfield, Chelle selected Wilfred Ndidi, Samson Tijani, Raphael Onyedika, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro and NPFL players Ayobami Junior and Oyedokun Tosin. Forwards include Moses Simon, Akor Adams, Philip Otele, Owen Oseni, Zadok Abu Yohanna, Terem Moffi, Rafiu Durosinm, and Femi Azeez.

Chelle said the Unity Cup will serve as a platform to assess fringe players, including those ofthe Nigerian descent in Europe, previously invited players who never featured, and top Nigeria Premier League performers.

He confirmed that his first-team squad will be reserved for June warm-up friendlies against Poland and Portugal. Injuries forced late changes, with Taiwo Awoniyi ruled out for surgery and Nathan Tella a doubt. The coach noted that several Nigeria Premier Football League players have secured visas and will report in London this week.
