Arsenal defeated Burnley 1-0 at Emirates Stadium, London, on Monday, May 18, 2026, in Premier League Matchday 37 to stay in control of the title race. 

German international Kai Havertz scored the game’s only goal in the 36th minute. The match was decided by a dominant first-half performance from Arsenal, who scored before the break and controlled possession, followed by a tighter second half where Burnley defended but could not equalize. 

The victory leaves Arsenal top of the Premier League with 79 points from 36 matches, recording 24 wins, 7 draws, and 5 losses. Arsenal entered the matchday with a four-point lead over Manchester City, who had 74 points from 35 games. Goal difference was not provided in the official standings released after the match.
