Galatasaray have intensified efforts to sign AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, with striker Victor Osimhen directly involved in the push to bring the Portuguese international to Turkey.
The development was reported by transfer experts Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, who confirmed that the Turkish champions are trying to open formal talks with the player. According to reports in Italy, Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray last summer from Napoli, has contacted Leao to help convince him about a move to Istanbul.
The approach comes as Galatasaray emerge as the most determined among Turkish Super Lig clubs pursuing Leao. Fenerbahce and Besiktas had also made approaches, but Galatasaray are leading the chase. The club is reportedly offering a significant salary proposal and the chance to play Champions League football alongside Osimhen.
Leao is said to be more inclined toward Galatasaray than other Turkish sides because the club has already qualified for the Champions League. AC Milan, however, have rejected loan proposals and want a permanent deal valued at 50 million euros plus 10 million in add-ons, for a total of 60 million euros.
