Karakullukcu made the remark during an appearance on NOW Spor 26's Kupa Gecesi program, where he was joined by panelists Veli Yigit, Erbatur Ergenekon and Ersin Duzen.
A post from the Galatasaray fan account Pesindeyiz Galatasaray on X.com shared the quote, which read: "Victor Osimhen is the greatest center forward in Turkish football history. I don't think a better one will come along." referencing the end of Mauro Icardi's spell at the club.
The comment comes after Osimhen's historic impact in Turkey. The 26-year-old Nigeria international joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli for the 2024-25 season and recorded 45 goal involvements in 41 appearances across all competitions. His form helped Galatasaray win the domestic double, securing both the Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.
Following that loan, Galatasaray completed a permanent transfer on July 31, 2025, for a fee of 75 million euros, making Osimhen the most expensive incoming transfer in Turkish football history. Napoli retained a 10 percent share of any future sale.
Karakullukcu has previously compared Osimhen favorably to other high-profile strikers who have played in the league, including Didier Drogba, arguing that the Nigerian maintains involvement throughout matches.
