The Nigeria Football Federation has confirmed an international friendly between the Super Eagles and Russia on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The match will be played at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium in Russia.

The NFF announced the fixture on its official X handle on Tuesday. According to the federation, the game has been confirmed by Nigeria's FIFA Match Agent, Jairo Pachon of Eurodatasports. The 44,000-capacity Nizhny Novgorod Stadium, which hosted matches during the 2018 FIFA World Cup, will stage the encounter.

The October fixture will be the second meeting between both nations in 16 months. Nigeria and Russia last met on June 6, 2025, at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, where the game ended in a 1-1 draw.

The friendly is scheduled one week after Nigeria's 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches. The Super Eagles are set to begin their qualifying campaign against Madagascar on September 25, before traveling to face Guinea-Bissau on September 29.
