Borussia Dortmund recovered from a two-goal deficit to defeat TSG Hoffenheim 3-2 in a Bundesliga Matchday 2 fixture on September 5, 2026, at PreZero Arena in Sinsheim, moving into second place.

Kosovar midfielder Leon Avdullahu opened the scoring for Hoffenheim in the 45th minute with a right-footed shot assisted by Czech defender Vladimír Coufal. German forward Tim Lemperle made it 2-0 in the 54th minute on a counter-attack assisted by Adam Daghim. 

Guinean striker Serhou Guirassy pulled one back for Dortmund in the 61st minute with a right-footed finish assisted by German defender Waldemar Anton. Portuguese forward Fábio Silva equalized in the 66th minute with a left-footed shot assisted by Guirassy. 

Kosovar defender Albian Hajdari scored an own goal in the 86th minute to complete the turnaround. Hoffenheim controlled the first half and early second period before Dortmund dominated the latter stages with a strong comeback.

Dortmund sit second in the Bundesliga table with six points and a goal difference of plus three after two matches. Hoffenheim are 15th with zero points and a goal difference of minus two.
