Galatasaray midfielder Renato Nhaga says he never imagined playing alongside Mauro Icardi, Victor Osimhen and Ilkay Gündoğan.

In remarks carried by Turkish outlets and shared on by Le Marca Sports, the Guinea-Bissau international, 19, called the opportunity a significant honor. Nhaga joined the Turkish champions this season from Portugal. He said he first told friends about his new teammates and they did not believe him, adding that many asked for video calls, with particular interest in speaking to Gündoğan.

"I never would have imagined that one day I'd be playing with Icardi, Osimhen, and İlkay Gündoğan. It's a huge honor for me. When I first told my friends, they couldn't believe it. All my friends wanted to video call with them. Especially with İlkay Gündoğan."

Nhaga, joined Galatasaray from Portuguese club Casa Pia this season. The Istanbul club paid a €6.5 million transfer fee, with Casa Pia retaining a 10 percent share of any future sale. He is registered as a right-footed midfielder and wears the number 19 shirt.

Gündoğan arrived in the same transfer window from Manchester City, joining a squad that already featured Argentine forward Icardi and Nigerian striker Osimhen as established starters.

The teenager has already made his mark on the pitch. On March 14, he scored in the 85th minute to seal a 3-0 Süper Lig win over Istanbul Başakşehir at RAMS Park, after earlier goals from Wilfried Singo and Osimhen.
