Former Super Eagles captain and manager Sunday Oliseh stepped away from the tactical whiteboard to share a rare, unfiltered look at the man behind the legendary footballing career.
Interviewed by host Jerry, Oliseh delved into his complex journey from a young boy in Nigeria to a mainstay in Europe’s elite leagues. The conversation brought out a shift in the perspective, moving from the rigid discipline of professional sports toward a more nuanced appreciation for family, personal peace, and the spiritual foundations that guided him through the high-pressure environments of clubs like Juventus, Dortmund, and Ajax.
Reflecting on the recent loss of his brother and close friends, Oliseh spoke candidly about the life lessons that have reshaped his philosophy in 2026. He revealed his secret passion for music and DJing, while sharing a "brutal lesson" about the necessity of self-preservation in the face of international fame. Oliseh remarked:
"I dismissed being selfish when I was a kid and even till last year as being something one should avoid. But the realities that have struck me ever since the death of my brother... is that you are a fool if you're not selfish. You should think about yourself, yourself, yourself is very, very important. It’s useless sacrificing yourself to help other people because it will always come back to bite you."
