Galatasaray have officially confirmed that star striker Victor Osimhen sustained a fractured right forearm during Wednesday night’s UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool.
The Nigerian international suffered the injury early in the match following a heavy collision with defender Ibrahima Konaté during an aerial challenge. Although Osimhen heroically played through the pain to complete the first half with a bandage, medical staff withdrew him at the interval after identifying a high risk of serious damage.
The injury added to a "nightmare" evening for the Turkish side at Anfield, as they were clinicaly dismantled in a 4-0 defeat. Despite holding a slim lead from the first leg, Galatasaray’s European campaign came to an abrupt end with a 4-1 aggregate loss.
Osimhen’s arm has already been immobilized in a cast following a comprehensive hospital assessment supervised by the club's medical team.
