Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has acknowledged that his team is feeling the absence of striker Victor Osimhen, while insisting the squad remains competitive without the Nigerian international.

Speaking after the team's 1-0 Super Lig victory over Kocaelispor at RAMS Park on Sunday, Buruk addressed the impact of the injury-enforced absence. The win, secured by a second-half goal from defender Abdulkerim Bardakci, came without Osimhen, who has missed the club's last two matches across all competitions.

Buruk stated on Halk TV that Osimhen's value extends beyond goals. According to the manager, the forward's presence on the pitch provides a psychological advantage, increasing pressure on opposing defenses and offering a clinical option inside the penalty area.

Buruk noted the team played under considerable pressure against Kocaelispor and missed a clinical finisher, though he praised new forward Deniz Gul for his effort and for creating chances. He stated the team is strong both with and without Osimhen because it has capable players, but admitted they do miss him.
