Lionel Messi's legal representatives have announced plans to take legal action against media outlets accused of violating the privacy of his family during the farewell ceremonies for his father, Jorge Messi.

The announcement, which circulated on social media on August 9th, accuses certain outlets of crossing professional boundaries while covering the private family event in Argentina.

Jorge Messi, father and longtime agent of the Argentine football star, died on Friday night at age 68 at a medical clinic in the Argentine city of Rosario after a long illness. He had spent his final months alternating between a medical center in Rosario and his home, accompanied by his wife Celia and his children Rodrigo, Matias and Maria Sol.

His remains were transferred to El Prado private cemetery in Perez, near Rosario, following a private ceremony attended by family. Messi, who plays for Inter Miami, traveled to his hometown of Rosario for the funeral.

The family has previously called for privacy regarding Jorge Messi's health. In a statement on June 18, they criticized "speculation" and "irresponsible media interest" and requested that the privacy, confidentiality, and intimacy of Jorge and his entire family be respected during this process.
